2007 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Top Speed

I'm not a 'speed freak' and would much rather take my time and enjoy the ride, but I'm curious on what the top 'comfort zone' speed is for a Vulcan 900?
Where I live, the normal speed is 80kph (kilometres per hour - or roughly 50mph). I'm comfortable riding there all day long. Our nearest "highway" is 100kph, but most people do 120-130kph - 60-70mph. I've had my 900 Classic up around 100kmph but wondering how far she'll go comfortably.

Comfortable highway riding on my bike (2008 Custom) is 50-80 mph. Around 90+ and the wind buffeting starts to be an issue, not so much in far of comfort. Over 100mph, (had it up to 115, don't ask) and as far as comfort it just sorta sucks. I use balance beads, tires are 200-50-18 on the rear, +1 stock size 90-90-21 in the front in conjunction with the big three.

I too live in small town Ontario, 120 to 130 kph is 75 tp 80 mph. I consistently run mine at 105 to 110kph (65 to 68 mph) touring all over the US pulling a loaded trailer, 2 up with no issues while still obtaining reasonable fuel mileage ... I also run a 200 / 70 rear tire which corrects the speedo and slightly drops the rpm's. Considering I have a batwing fairing and a mustang seat, fatigue issues are a non event for me and I regularly put down back to back 1000 km plus days while touring. The best thing i ever did was get rid of the stock LT shield.

900 custom, no windshield - 70 mph is comfortable enough. I've run higher for 15 to 30 minutes at a time, and the wind really starts to push on you, but the bike can handle it just fine. it works just as well for me as I'm not really a fan of highway riding

I would pick a time and a highway when the traffic is minimum and its a long straight stretch of solid asphalt with no curves and it's not raining or dark and with no semi-tractor trailers around and it's a divided highway and there's no state troopers around and also your Obama care medical insurance is valid and then just do a blast off on your bike until you overcome the fear of death by the shear thrill of it all but then realize that you had a double shot of straight whiskey before you left the house and don't really care about dying and told your partner before you left that if you get run over by a young female driver in a SUV and the police report say she was doing her nails and texting on her Samsung Galaxy while looking in the mirror fixing her hair and didn't see you before running over you then in this case have 6 shots of whiskey before you try this and kiss the dog goodbye because the dog will not really care if you ever come back alive again

I know that my 900 will do 80mph in uphill passing maneuvers, and that's necessary only because a lot of the aggravating drivers here speed up when we have an uphill passing lane available even though they have been doing 50 mph when no passing is either legal or safe.

Hi. on my 900 custom with stock rear tire, the higher speed was 180km/h. Very very hard to reach it, now with 200/70 the higher speed was 165km/h, but not comfortable.
Comfortable between 65 - 80 mph (100 - 120 km/h).

I'm not sure what the Absolute top speed is but very nice officer told me it was 94.

Love the responses of this thread!
I have had limited time on my Vulcan 900. But after riding it out to work a couple times which is more highway speeds I was able to comfortably ride at 80 MPH, which is faster then expected to stay comfortable. The bike can do more, but the wind pushing against you would be straining IMO. If you don't have a windshield I would recommend a full face helmet vs. a 3/4 or half at much above 65.
