Proprietary chassis with magnetic ride control and active handling? Wow...that's a first for a small volume manufacturer. Intriguing, but I'd have to see the execution up close and in person before writing the check. I'd love to know about aftermarket availability of magnetic ride control.....am a huge fan of it on my Vettes and 458, and would love to adapt it to a restomod.
$250-300k for a really good resto-mod, albeit heavy on the mod...? Hmmmmm. Thinking that with the current retro muscle cars, Mustang, Camaro and Challenger, you could dump 100k in mods into one and have something very similar as far as fit, finish, performance and uniqueness. Looks like lots of GM parts, I imagine that is where they source the powertrain, suspension and brakes? On the other hand... It looks very 'finished' for a car like this. Lots of really nice bits and pieces. Interior looks like it has lots of custom, production quality bits.
I like the concept. But the price tag is a little steep. And the styling throws me off. Front wheels back its almost entirely fast back mustang. But the front is a Charger Camaro mash up. Interesting to see how they do.
For the price you could buy a new Mustang or Camaro reproduction body and build something. Or a resto mod. Lots of options in that price range. Just don't see this working out. And yes, it's a stupid name for a car... But of you're trying to appeal to rednecks it might work?
Ok I got in touch with Equus to find out about the name. "The name was inspired by the deep bass sound of the exhaust" so its "base" but the first thing I think of is Bass Pro Shops. The 770 number comes from the cubic cm of on cylinder.
